Touring bassist based in Brooklyn.
Ashley Kossakowski is a passionate, skilled bassist and vocalist known for her stage presence and energy. She has played to tens of thousands on national and international tours, and festivals including Lollapalooza, SXSW, Shaky Knees and Summerfest.
Now based in Brooklyn, NY, Kossakowski was raised by the DIY music scene in her hometown of Chicago. Kossakowski is a queer first-generation Polish immigrant and has been touring since 2014. She studied under Sara Landeau (Bikini Kill, The Julie Ruin) in New York and has been an active participant in the New York music scene since 2015.
Kossakowski is the front-person of Groupie, the band she founded in 2015, where she serves as bassist, lead vocalist, co-writer, and co-producer. She has spent the last few years as a touring bassist which notably included opening for Sabrina Carpenter, CHVRCHES, Cavetown, Dermot Kennedy, PinkPantheress, NLE Choppa, 070 Shake, dodie, and mxmtoon. She has been the touring bassist for Nell Mescal, Cafuné, Oceanator, and Idaho Green. Other career highlights include gracing the stages of legendary venues like T.D. Garden in Boston, Alexandra Palace in London, L’Olympia in Paris, House of Blues in Chicago, Bowery Ballroom in NYC, and the Paramount Theater in Seattle, WA, and playing an Audiotree session.
